HELPING THE HUNGRY VIRTUALLY AT A GLANCE
At the beginning of the pandemic, we realized that food insecurity, an already devastating issue, was becoming exponentially worse. We wanted to help, so we launched Helping the Hungry Virtually (HTHV). By sending grocery e-gift cards to families who have been especially affected by COVID-19, HTHV's mission is to help combat food insecurity without any physical contact.
GROCERY GIFT CARDS
A solution to current circumstances
NO PHYSICAL CONTACT DURING COVID-19
When we wanted to help address hunger at the beginning of the pandemic, we realized that we could not host a physical food drive. By sending grocery gift cards to families in need, we limit the spread of COVID-19 while actively addressing food insecurity in our communities.
FREEDOM TO CHOOSE GROCERIES
We believe that when a family goes to the market, they know what groceries they need to buy. HTHV, unlike a food drive, gives families the autonomy to choose their own groceries as normal - with some help from our grocery gift cards.

"I lost my job to the pandemic, and a couple weeks later my children's father suffered a catastrophic medical injury. We were financially devastated. After a while, it became clear that we needed to reach out to our community for help and resources. Our school social worker linked us up with HTHV to help provide some relief. I reached out and heard back quickly. A brief summary of our situation, and our request for assistance was approved. I received an e-gift card to my preferred grocery store, and within a day or two, made it to the store for a cart full of groceries. Eternal thanks and gratitude to HTHV for helping us during these times."
